My story

About

Hi, I’m Elaine.

I’m fascinated by the complexity of the connections between body and mind, and by how our relationship with thoughts, bodily sensations, and the world around us can promote disease or healing.

I believe in food as medicine, and I believe in bringing compassion into healthcare.

My work focuses on designing systems, tools, and education that help make that kind of care more accessible and easier to deliver.

The scientist origin

My career began in engineering and physics, where I worked on biomedical technologies and medical devices. This technical foundation shaped the way I think about healthcare today: as a system of interconnected parts that must work together to create meaningful outcomes.

Over time, my curiosity expanded from how technology interacts with the human body to how biology, psychology, behavior, and environment interact with each other.

That shift ultimately redirected my entire career.

The turning point

In my mid-thirties, I experienced a period of significant health challenges, including fibromyalgia, digestive dysfunction, anxiety, and severe burnout.

Despite understanding healthcare from a technical standpoint, I saw firsthand how conventional models often struggle to address complex, interconnected conditions.

My recovery came through lifestyle medicine, psychology, mindfulness, and integrative care. That experience reshaped both my personal life and professional direction.

It led me to pursue a Master’s in Psychological Medicine and Mental Health and to deepen my training across behavior change, lifestyle medicine, coaching, and health communication.

What I do now

Today, my work focuses on designing healthcare systems, tools, and educational platforms that integrate:

  • behavior change science

  • lifestyle medicine

  • psychology and coaching

  • digital health and communication

I work with clinicians, organizations, and health innovators to bridge the gap between research, clinical practice, and real-world behavior change — helping healthcare become more human, more effective, and more sustainable.

I stand on the shoulders of giants.

An integrative approach to health requires understanding how different pieces connect. Across psychology, lifestyle medicine, neuroscience, and behavior change, experts around the world are continuously expanding what we know about health and healing.

I’ve made it my mission to learn from the very best across disciplines so I can bring together evidence-based insights into work that is both scientifically rigorous and deeply compassionate.
